Annually, the Regatta at Clermont is one of the most challenging of our season.  The weather is always windy, the water is choppy and it can be pouring rain &/or 90 degrees.  Well this year the only thing missing was the rain.

The course is a straight away 350 meter spring.  Usually 4-6 lanes across, which means the choppy water can cause the starts to ve very difficult - AND - collisions occur quite often.

The format was 3 races in each class.  Two prelims and the Championship round.  The field of teams was full and classes ranged from community to Premier.  The Leatherneck Warriors were entered in 3 categories: Men's 10, Women's 10, and Mixed 20.

The racing was furious with multiple boats colliding or steering off course.  It as a very tough for the steerers, again.

The Warrior Women  put on a brilliant show of coordinatio, athleticism, and speed.  They won their class and finished pulling away in the 350 meter sprint to win GOLD.

The Warrior Men's 10 suffered a mishap in their 1st. heat but recovered and sprinted to a third place finish to win BRONZE

The Mixed 20 rotated a number of warrior paddlers through it's 3 hears, and then delivered a respectable finish for BRONZE.

So, again, the deam delivered.  Special recognition has to go to Chrissie Sitarski, our drummer for every race!!!  She was on the water from 8:15AM until 3PM, leading our boats.

And - our coasch, Lee Cerovac, steered the majority of the races.  His skill and stamina helped the Leatherneck Warriors, men, women & mixed win their medals.

Our thanks goes out to Lee & Chrissie for their dedication and efforts. You'll be remembered.
